  • tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • cups milk
  • 1 pc egg
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
Toppings
  • Syrup/honey
  • Choice of fruit/s
  • Powdered sugar

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls You'll need at least one large bowl to combine the dry ingredients and a separate bowl for the wet ingredients.
  • Measuring cups and spoons Accurate measurements are crucial for a good pancake batter, so you'll need both for dry ingredients (flour, sugar) and liquid ingredients (milk)
  • Whisk or Spoon A whisk is ideal for mixing the batter to the right consistency, but a fork or spoon will also work.
  • Griddle or Frying Pan
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour in milk, egg, and melted butter; mix until smooth.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Pour or scoop batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
  5. Brown on both sides and serve hot with syrup or toppings.
